International Gendercide Day
International Women's Day. Much of the world and the Woman Worshipping West will celebrate this event with glowing reports of initiatives, programs and progress.Enlightened people everywhere are and should be appreciative of this.
"In countries where the birth of a boy is considered a gift and the birth of a
girl a curse from the gods, selective abortion and infanticide eliminate girl
babies.Young girls die from neglect, because food and meds are reserved
first for brothers, fathers, husbands and sons.In countries where women are considered the property of men, their fathers, brothers and husbands murder them for choosing their own sexual partners.
These are called "honor" killings, though honor has nothing to do with it.
Young brides are killed if their fathers do not pay sufficient money to the men who have married them; these are called "dowry deaths" although they are not deaths; they are murders.
The brutal international sex trade in young girls kills uncounted numbers of women.
Domestic violence is a major killer of women in every country on the globe.
Women between the ages of 15 and 44 are more likely to be killed or maimed by
their male relatives than as a result of cancer, malaria, traffic accidents or
war – or all of them put together. So little value is placed on women’s health that every year roughly 600,000 women die giving birth.
Six thousand small girls are victims of ungodly gender apartheid every day, according to the UN. Many die. Others live the rest of their lives in crippling pain.
According to the World Health Organization, one woman out of every five is
likely to be a victim of rape or attempted rape in lifetime. And this is genocide.
These killings are not silent--- all the victims scream. It is not so much that the world does not hear them; it is that we fellow human beings choose not to pay attention. "

ESPNSmith helps No. 4 Vols overcome big deficit to beat Gators
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- After JaJuan Smith hit a second straight 3-pointer, he backpedaled to the other end of the court yelling, "They're done. They're done."
He was right about the game -- and maybe Florida's season.Smith scored 23 points, Chris Lofton added 21 and No. 4 Tennessee overcame a 16-point deficit to beat the Gators 89-86 on Wednesday night.
They passed their record for most wins in a season (26 was the most) and still have 1 regular season game left (then the SEC tourney and the NCAA). Great year for Pearl and the squad no matter how it turns out.

Why you should carry every day

Why you should carry every day
By Gerard Valentino
Several spree killings in non-permissive places like colleges or in states that don't have concealed-carry laws have blasted the gun-control debate back onto the national stage. Pro-gun advocates accurately pointed out that in Illinois, where two of the spree killings took place, citizens are denied their constitutional right to self-defense through the right to bear arms. Being disarmed in the face of a deranged killer must be a terrifying experience.
Even worse, however, is finding yourself at the mercy of an armed thug after you made the decision not to carry because you were just running to the store.
Since the creation of the failed social experiment gun control has become, the establishment media have taught everyone simply to give up their possessions to criminals. The liberalism pervasive in schools has also created generations of people who were taught not to fight back if attacked by another student. Students who are victimized are prohibited from fighting back as a means of protection, which has left us with a generation incapable of dealing with the tyranny of common thugs that prey on people.I really like this next quote.
Being submissive to criminals has left us with an element in society that uses the false hope of pacifism as an invitation to attack people with impunity.

Chaos - thy name is the democrat convention
Why would this happen you might ask? Well because democrats are too busy looking at the snake-oil salesman from Illinois with lover's eyes for the past month or so.
What this has done is to kill any momentum that Hillary had and made her look irrelevant and old.
But more importantly, because Hillary had a lead and because too many of the democrat primaries allowed the candidates to actually split votes, this means that the democrat Super Delegates will play a part in the nomination at the democrat convention.
What are Super Delegates you might ask? They are bigwigs in the democrat party ( Congressmen, Part Leaders, etc...).
Why are they important? Because at the convention these Super Delegates get to vote...
ANY WAY THEY WANT !!!
(ed. "Pledged delegates reflect the preferences of the voters, but are not actually legally bound to vote for the candidate they are pledged for." -wiki- it's not just the supers that get to vote how they want ;) --LN)
This means that if Obama and Clinton are tied. Or more ironically, if Obama narrowly leads the POPULAR VOTE with not enough delegates to win outright, Hillary still could get the nomination by swaying enough Super Delegates to vote for her.
What THAT means is that this would be a VERY MESSY democrat Convention.
And THAT ... has me wishing Hillary does well enough to pull close.
Get yer popcorn ready folks !!

Poll on Concealed Carry
Story & Poll
Look under reader feedback ~LN
Clinton vs Obama
The story is 2 pages and talks of the 'rift' between father (Clinton) and son (Obama) and the plight of a town that the interstates passed by. There is talk of loyalty and change and all that goes with those concepts.
The most curious omission from the piece is anything at all to do with experience, positions on anything, or if said candidate could/would be any good in the office of President. I'd say that sums up the dilemma for most Democrats that I know today.
BROWNSVILLE, Tex. -- State Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr. pulled into the parking lot at Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q one day last week in an old pickup truck worn by 237,000 miles. He winced as he stepped down from the driver's seat, evidence of two heart attacks and a recent hernia surgery.Doctors had ordered him to stay home, but he refused to watch Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's Texas campaign deteriorate from his couch. Lucio, 62, planned to use his influence across the Rio Grande Valley to save her.
State Rep. Eddie Lucio III, 29, arrived in a new Saab compact with a Barack Obama bumper sticker on the rear window. A few months ago, when he applied the decal, friends heckled him. His endorsement of Obama alienated some constituents in a Latino district thick with Clinton loyalists. Career suicide, some colleagues called it. Now, Lucio hoped to prove his instincts right.
